The 2025 Ram moved every serviceable filter to the top of the engine and left a pile of part numbers behind. Here is what actually fits the new truck, what each filter does, and what the set should cost - without a trip under the chassis.
The A3248C engine air filter feeds a turbo spinning past 100,000 RPM; the CF185 cabin filter decides what you breathe all year. This kit puts both in one box for $51.28 — about 40% under the GM parts counter — and fixes the year-split mistake that sends dust into the turbo.
Which Duramax costs more to delete — the L5P or the LML? The L5P runs $6,000-$9,000 all-in versus $2,000-$3,500 for the LML, and nearly all of that gap is the L5P’s encrypted ECM, tune credits, and CAN BUS plugs.
The L5P Duramax delete begins with an ECM unlock you can’t skip: 2017-2023 E41 trucks unlock over OBD via fuse 57/78, while 2024-2025 E42 trucks ship the ECM to HP Tuners for a two-week bench unlock.
Two filters, two very different clocks. The 2015-2016 LML Duramax needs an A3141C engine air filter and a CP809 cabin filter — and the air filter that fits an L5P will not fit yours. Here is what both really cost, and why the carbon layer is the part that matters.
The ISX CM2250/CM2350 is Cummins’ EGR cooler is the component that cracks first — triggering $1,500–$3,500 replacement cycles. A Stage 2 delete removes that failure point for good.
A 3.0L LM2 Duramax DPF and EGR delete removes the failure-prone EGR cooler, the carbon-sludge source, and the SCRF canister — the half-ton fix for a good engine saddled with a fragile emissions stack.
LML Duramax delete: do it now or wait until it breaks? The horsepower and fuel-economy gains people credit to a delete actually come from the tune — the pipe itself just removes three failure-prone emissions systems.
Here’s why DEF, DPF, and EGR faults trigger it — and how a DPF delete removes all three failure points before the truck strands you on the highway.
