DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • This essential 2-in-1 fluid protection kit provides targeted filtration for your truck’s fuel injection and engine lubrication systems. By combining a cartridge-style fuel filter with a heavy-duty spin-on oil filter into a single bundle, this kit streamlines your routine maintenance schedule while safeguarding your powertrain’s critical components.
  • Engineered to meet the high demands of modern high-pressure common-rail diesel systems, the fuel filter efficiently strips water and fine particles before they reach sensitive fuel injectors. Paired with a high-flow oil filter designed to handle heavy soot loads and maintain steady oil pressure during heavy towing, this package ensures pure fluids and reliable performance every mile of the drive.

Key Features

  • Precision cartridge-style fuel filter utilizes advanced coalescing media to strip water and fine particulate contaminants before they reach high-pressure injectors.
  • Precision-engineered fuel filter housing dimensions and high-grade O-rings ensure an exact seal, eliminating housing cap leaks and pressure loss.
  • Progressive-density oil filter media maintains consistent high-volume oil flow to critical engine components and turbocharger bearings while trapping fine combustion soot.
  • Premium silicone anti-drainback valve retains oil inside the filter during engine shutdown, preventing dry cold starts and maintaining immediate oil pressure at ignition.

Replacement Interval

  • Replace the fuel filter every 15,000–20,000 miles (10,000–15,000 miles for severe service) and the oil filter with every oil change at 7,500 miles (5,000 miles severe).

FAQ

Q: Can I run this combo on my 2020 L5P instead of the PF26 kit?

A: No. The 2020+ L5P uses a different oil filter PF26 with revised thread specifications. This kit’s PF2232 will not thread onto 2020 and newer engines. Use the 2020-2026 Fuel & Oil Combo for those trucks.

Q: Why do 2017–2019 models use a drop-in cartridge fuel filter instead of a spin-on filter?

A: The cartridge design reduces environmental waste by replacing only the interior filter element rather than the entire metal canister. Additionally, cartridge elements allow for multi-layer coalescing media that delivers superior water separation for modern high-pressure fuel systems.

Q: Is the fuel filter change procedure different from the old spin-on?

A: Yes. Instead of unscrewing the entire canister, you remove the filter housing cap with a socket, lift out the old cartridge, drop in the new one, and torque the cap back on. No filter wrench needed.

Q: Does this kit include the fuel filter housing O-ring?

A: The replacement cartridge includes a new O-ring for the housing cap. Always replace the O-ring with every filter change — reusing old O-rings is the most common cause of post-service fuel leaks.

Q: Need to replace your engine air and cabin air filters at the same time?

A: If you want a complete bumper-to-bumper service, step up to our Full Maintenance Kit covers all four filters for 2017–2019 trucks. For just the air and fuel combination, see Air, Cabin & Fuel Kit.
