Safety & Testing
Every TruckTok hitch component is crafted from high-grade, premium materials and engineered to meet rigorous industry towing safety standards. Our weight and break strength ratings are backed by extensive laboratory load testing to ensure reliable, heavy-duty performance under real-world conditions. Every structural component undergoes strict, multi-stage quality control before leaving our facility to guarantee maximum safety and peace of mind on the road.
Q: Do I need a hook stopper if I already have a fairlead?
A: The fairlead guides the line — it doesn’t protect against the hook slamming into it. Without a stopper, every full retraction is a metal-on-metal impact that slowly damages both your hook and fairlead. The stopper is a $22 preventative that extends the life of both.
Q: Will this work with a roller fairlead and steel cable?
A: Yes — it works with roller fairleads, hawse fairleads, synthetic rope, and steel cable up to 1/2" diameter. The split design fits around any common winch line configuration.
Q: How tight should the stopper be against the fairlead?
A: Snug enough to keep the line under light tension and the hook from rattling, but not so tight that it compresses the stopper significantly. You want it to absorb impact, not transfer it. Simply bump your winch remote slightly to dial in the right stowed tension.
Q: Will the silicone degrade from mud and UV exposure?
A: UV-stable silicone is far more durable than rubber for this application. It won’t crack from sun exposure or harden in cold weather. Rinse mud off occasionally and it’ll last for years.
Q: Need a winch hook or a complete winch line upgrade?
A: Pair this stopper with our 33,000 lbs forged winch hook or 44,000 lbs heavy-duty winch hook. For a full winch line replacement, see our 1/4" x 50ft synthetic winch rope.
