Q: Does the BSM indicator work without factory blind-spot monitoring?
A: No. The triangle BSM indicator plugs into your factory blind-spot monitoring harness and only illuminates when the system detects a vehicle in your blind spot. Your Super Duty must have factory BSM for this feature to function.
Q: Will the temperature sensor prevent error codes on my dashboard?
A: Yes. The built-in ambient temperature sensor uses the same protocol as the factory unit, which prevents false temperature readings and error codes that can appear when replacing a factory sensor-equipped mirror with one that lacks it.
Q: Are these the same as the 2008–2016 Super Duty mirrors?
A: No. These are for 2017–2020 Super Duty and include the BSM triangle indicator and temperature sensor that the earlier 2008–2016 mirrors don’t have. The door mounting pattern also changed in 2017. For 2008–2016, see our earlier Super Duty mirrors.
Q: Are these plug-and-play on my 2017–2020 Super Duty?
A: Yes — if your truck was factory-equipped with power mirrors, heat, BSM, running lights, and a temperature sensor. These connect to your existing harness. Missing factory options will require custom wiring.
Q: Need mirrors for an F-150 instead?
A: We carry F-150 mirrors for 2004–2006, 2007–2014, and 2015–2018. Browse our full mirror collection.
