- The roll-up design is especially valuable on HD trucks where the tailgate sees heavy use. Open the tailgate, roll the cover up, and you’ve got full bed access for loading pallets, equipment, or job-site materials. Close it back down to keep everything secure and dry when the job is done.

Installation Overview
This cover installs in 20–40 minutes with basic hand tools — no drilling, no cutting, no permanent modifications. The aircraft-grade aluminum side rails clamp directly onto your factory bed rails. Position the rails, tighten the clamps, roll out the fabric, and adjust the tailgate tension for a weather-tight seal. One person can handle it; a second set of hands cuts the job in half.

Q: Does one cover really fit both 1500 and 3500HD trucks?
A: Yes. The bed rail dimensions are the same across all GMT900 1500, 2500HD, and 3500HD models with the standard bed. The cover and rail system are identical — no different SKU needed.
Q: Will the heavier HD tailgate cause more wear on the cover latch?
A: The cover doesn’t attach to or interact with the tailgate’s weight mechanism. It simply seals against the top of the closed tailgate. The tailgate’s weight has no effect on cover durability.
Q: Is the 6.5ft cover more prone to wind noise than the 5.8ft?
A: With proper tension, there’s no noticeable difference. The cross-bows and adjustable tension system keep the 6.5ft fabric flat. If you hear flapping, tighten the tailgate latch — that solves it 99% of the time.
Q: Can this cover be used with a ladder rack?
A: Most ladder racks mount to the stake pockets or bed rails above the tonneau cover rail line, so there’s typically no conflict. However, the cover must be rolled up when the rack is loaded with ladders or materials that extend into the bed area.
