DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • Protect your diesel engine from cylinder scoring and power loss with this premium cylindrical engine air filter. Purpose-built to handle massive airflow demands, its deep-pleated media balances high-efficiency filtration with low restriction. This high-volume design ensures your turbocharger receives a clean, unrestricted intake charge to maintain optimal combustion and smooth power delivery under heavy towing loads.
  • Featuring a round structural design with a high-flex sealing gasket, this filter provides an airtight lock to eliminate unfiltered bypass air. The structural, high-capacity pleats withstand intense engine suction without collapsing, and the moisture-resistant design thrives in high humidity or dusty commercial environments to deliver long-lasting protection for your fleet.

Key Features

  • Deep-pleat geometry packs maximum filtration surface area into a compact space, extending service life and increasing dust-holding capacity between engine inspections.
  • Moisture-resistant media treatment resists dampness absorption and pleat swelling during rain-soaked drives or high-humidity work environments.
  • Reinforced structural pleat alignment prevents media buckling or collapsing under the intense intake vacuum pulses generated by a spooled-up turbocharger.
  • High dust-capacity design maintains predictable, high-volume airflow delivery throughout the service interval, keeping exhaust gas temperatures stable during long mountain-grade towing pulls.

Replacement Interval

  • Inspect the engine air filter every 15,000 miles and replace it at 30,000 miles under normal operating conditions. For heavy-duty trucks operating on unpaved roads, agricultural environments, or regions with frequent dust storms, accelerate the replacement interval to every 15,000 to 20,000 miles.

FAQ

Q: Can I simply blow out this filter with compressed air to extend its life?

A: No, it is highly discouraged. Compressed air can easily rupture the microscopic fibers within the filter media, creating invisible pathways for fine dust to bypass the filter and reach your cylinders. Once the filter is visibly loaded or has reached its mileage limit, complete replacement is the only safe path to protect your engine.

Q: Does this filter work on classic body style trucks within the transition model years?

A: This replacement engine air filter is designed to fit a specific factory housing layout. To ensure absolute compatibility with your truck's specific engine generation and body style, please use the verified vehicle fitment chart provided on this product page before finalizing your purchase.

Q: What are the main symptoms of a clogged engine air filter on a diesel truck?

A: Common indicators include a noticeable drop in fuel economy, sluggish turbocharger spool-up, elevated exhaust gas temperatures under heavy load, and increased black smoke from the tailpipe. Severe restriction can also trigger sensor trouble codes and force the vehicle into reduced power modes.

Q: Is this filter compatible with an aftermarket cold air intake system?

A: No. This filter is engineered exclusively to drop into the factory original equipment airbox housing. Vehicles equipped with aftermarket open-element or custom cold air intake systems require the specific replacement elements provided by those intake manufacturers.

Q: Want to refresh your entire 2006–2010 filter lineup in one go?

A: Yes. Combining this engine air filter with the matching premium fuel and oil filters provides comprehensive fluid and air protection for your powertrain. You can easily secure a full service update by ordering our: 2006-2010 Full Filter Kit.

2007-2014 Duramax service kit: two engine filters plus cabin

2009 Silverado 3500 LMM. This kit covers the TP3018 fuel filter, PF2232 oil filter, and 23101674 cabin air filter. The LMM has the DPF and the CP3 pump, which is more forgiving than the CP4, but clean fuel is still non-negotiable. The PF2232 fits all Duramax oil filter housings 2001-2019. The cabin filter is the 2007-2014 specific design. Three filters, one box, LMM maintenance covered.

PF2232: one oil filter for 19 years of Duramax, 2001-2019

2013 Silverado 2500 LML. The PF2232 oil filter has been the Duramax standard from the 2001 LB7 through the 2019 L5P. Only the 2020+ L5P switched to the PF26. This TruckTok PF2232 has the correct diameter, height, and center tube for the Duramax oil filter housing. The cartridge drops in clean and the included O-ring seals the cap without leaking. If you own any Duramax before 2020, this is your oil filter. The 19-year run speaks to how well the design works.

LBZ/LMM three-filter kit: TP3018 fuel, PF2232 oil, D3087C air

2007 Silverado 2500 LBZ. This kit covers the three engine filters for the 2006-2010 Duramax. The TP3018 fuel filter fits the CP3-equipped LBZ/LMM frame-rail housing. The PF2232 oil filter is the same that Duramax has used since 2001. The D3087C air filter seals the LBZ/LMM airbox perfectly. The LBZ is legendary for reliability and keeping good filters on it is part of that story. Three filters, one box, 500K-mile engine.

D3087C: the 2006-2010 Duramax air filter, not the LML A3141C

2008 Silverado 2500 LMM. The 2006-2010 Duramax uses the D3087C air filter which is a different size from the 2011+ LML A3141C. This TruckTok D3087C has the correct shape and the foam seal fills the airbox channel. The dry synthetic media does not restrict flow and the filter minder stays green. The LMM has the DPF but no DEF, so let it breathe with a clean air filter. Do not accidentally buy the LML filter for your LBZ or LMM.

23101674 cabin filter: fits 2007-2014 Silverado and Sierra

2010 Silverado 2500. The 23101674 (ACDelco CF193C) is the cabin air filter for 2007-2014 GM HD trucks. This TruckTok version has an activated carbon layer that the base ACDelco filter skips. 30K miles of Texas dust and the old filter was a solid brown rectangle. New one clicks in behind the glovebox in 30 seconds. HVAC blows cleaner and the diesel smell is gone from the cab. Your lungs spend more time in the truck than you think.

TP3018 and PF2232: the two Duramax filters that never changed for 16 years

2005 Silverado 2500 LLY. The TP3018 fuel filter and PF2232 oil filter fit every Duramax from the 2001 LB7 through the 2016 LML. That is 15 model years with the same two filters. This TruckTok combo has the 10-micron fuel/water separator and the cartridge oil filter with the correct bypass valve. I have owned three Duramax trucks and this is the same combo I have been buying for 20 years. TruckTok price is about half what the dealer charges.
