DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • The TruckTok 5/8" Hitch Lock uses a solid steel pin with a pick-resistant zinc alloy tubular lock cylinder to keep your hitch accessories where they belong: on your truck. The push-to-lock mechanism means you don’t even need the key to secure it — just push the lock head onto the pin and it’s locked. A quarter-turn of the key pops it open when you’re ready to remove it.
  • A black safety R-clip slides through a dedicated hole at the end of the pin as a secondary fail-safe: even if the lock head takes an extreme hit or isn’t fully seated, the R-clip physically prevents the pin from sliding out of the receiver. The electrophoretic coating and waterproof rubber dust cap protect the lock cylinder from rain, mud, and road salt. For anyone who leaves a ball mount or recovery receiver in their hitch, this lock pays for itself the first time it stops a thief.

Key Features

  • Push the lock head onto the pin — it clicks locked without the key. A 1/4 turn of the key opens it. No fumbling with a key at both ends of the process, no forgetting to lock it.
  • The zinc alloy tubular key design is significantly harder to pick than standard wafer locks. It won’t stop a determined thief with power tools — no lock will — but it defeats the opportunistic grab-and-go.
  • Premium rubber O-rings act as adjustable shock absorbers between the pin and receiver, eliminating the metal-on-metal clanking. A black safety R-clip slides through the end of the pin as a secondary lock — even if the lock head is dislodged by a severe impact, the R-clip keeps the pin from backing out of the receiver.
  • Electrophoretic coating on the steel pin, a waterproof rubber dust cap over the keyhole, and rust-resistant lock internals. Built for trucks that live outside in rain, snow, and salt.
  • Works with any 2" receiver accessory — ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, recovery receivers. One lock secures everything you plug into your hitch.

FAQ

Q: Can I use this as my primary hitch pin for towing?

A: Absolutely. This lock is built from high-strength solid steel and is rated for Class III and Class IV towing applications. It is designed to replace your standard hitch pin permanently, providing both heavy-duty towing strength on the highway and ironclad theft protection when you're parked

Q: What happens if I lose both keys?

A: You’ll need to cut or drill the lock off — which is exactly what you want from a security device. Keep one key on your keychain and the spare in a safe place at home. Replacement keys are not available without the key code that ships with the lock.

Q: Will the lock freeze in winter?

A: The waterproof dust cap prevents most moisture intrusion. For extreme cold, a shot of lock de-icer or graphite lubricant into the keyhole once per season prevents freeze-up. The push-to-lock feature still works even if the lock cylinder is frozen — you just won’t be able to unlock it until it thaws.

Q: How do the rubber O-rings stop rattling?

A: They fill the gap between the pin and the receiver walls, absorbing vibration that would otherwise transmit as metal-on-metal noise. Unlike rigid spacers, the rubber O-rings compress to fit different receiver tolerances.

Q: Need a hitch tightener for even more stability?

A: For maximum anti-rattle performance, combine this lock with our anti-rattle hitch tightener. For a complete towing setup, add our fixed 2" ball mount or 6" adjustable drop hitch.
