DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • The 07.5-10 6.6L Duramax LMM introduced GM's first-generation diesel emissions system, including a highly restrictive DPF and CAT Converter. Today, these aging factory filters are the first cause of truck failures.
  • They clog constantly, forcing your truck into frequent, fuel-guzzling Active Regeneration cycles. This restriction creates massive exhaust backpressure, traps extreme heat right behind the turbo, spikes EGTs, and inevitably triggers the dreaded Limp Mode (Reduced Engine Power), leaving you stranded while towing or working.

Key Features

  • Premium T-409 Stainless Steel: Built from industrial-grade, heavy-welded T-409 SS to withstand intense thermal expansion while resisting road salt and moisture corrosion.
  • Built for Modified Trucks: Specifically tailored for trucks with upgraded turbos flowing 75+ lb/min, built transmissions, and high-horsepower tunes where exhaust volume is the ultimate limiting factor.
  • Maximum EGT & Heat Relief: Eliminates the heat-trapping ceramic bricks right behind the turbocharger. Allows massive volumes of hot exhaust gas to escape instantly, drastically dropping top-end EGTs during competitive pulls or heavy racing.
  • The Ultimate Deep Diesel Roar: The huge 5" diameter acts like a megaphone, creating the deepest, throatiness, and most aggressive exhaust note available for the LMM platform.

FAQ

Q: Will a 5" pipe hurt my truck's low-end torque?

A: Yes, slightly on stock setups: A 5" diameter reduces exhaust velocity at low RPMs, which can soften off-the-line throttle response on a stock turbo. However, under full throttle at 3k+ RPM, the 5" pipe provides the massive airflow headroom that a 4" pipe would restrict.

Q: Should I buy the 4" or this 5" version for my LMM?

A: Go 5" if your truck features a built transmission, an upgraded turbo, and larger injectors to unlock high-RPM flow. Choose the 4" version if you run a stock turbo and mild street tune—it preserves better low-end towing torque for daily driving.

Q: How loud is the 5" LMM system without a muffler?

A: It is incredibly loud, deep, and aggressive. The 5" piping acts like a megaphone, producing a massive V8 diesel roar under acceleration. If you tow heavy frequently or daily drive through quiet neighborhoods, we strongly recommend the 5" Muffler. For maximum volume at the track or truck pull, go straight pipe.

Q: My truck has high mileage and the original DPF. Can I just clean it instead?

A: At this stage (16+ years), original LMM DPFs run on borrowed time. Permanent ash accumulation clogs the ceramic core, which hurts performance and fuel economy. Since a dealer replacement costs $1.5k–$2.5k, this high-flow race pipe provides a permanent, cost-effective solution for off-road trucks.
