Took 3 hours — DPF assembly is a beast to drop

2020 Silverado 2500 crew cab. The install is straightforward but the factory DPF assembly on the L5P is enormous and heavy — probably 80 pounds. You need a second set of hands or a jack to lower it without dropping it on your face. Once it is out the TruckTok pipe slides in easily — all slip joints fit snug and the band clamps are heavy-duty. The 5-inch pipe is noticeably heavier than 4-inch but that is just more material. The sound is deep and clean, not raspy like a straight-piped gasser.

The L5P has a unique V-band turbo flange — this kit gets it right

2022 Silverado 2500. The L5P uses a V-band clamp at the turbo outlet — not a bolt-on flange. This TruckTok downpipe has the correct V-band flange machined into the pipe. It seated perfectly on the turbo and the clamp pulled it square. No exhaust leaks, no soot streaks. Some budget kits use a universal flange that never seals right. This one is L5P-specific and it shows.

L5P plus 5-inch delete plus tune = 22 mpg highway

2018 GMC Denali HD. Before the delete I was getting 15 mpg highway and 12 towing. After this 5-inch system and a properly tuned EZ Lynk file, I get 22 mpg unloaded and 16 pulling my 16K-pound fifth wheel. The 5-inch pipe eliminates all backpressure downstream of the turbo. This is a $60K truck that was being choked by a $200 DPF. Not anymore.

2021 L5P — the 5-inch fits the Gen 2 chassis perfectly

The 2020+ L5P has a slightly different frame than the 2017-2019. The DEF tank is relocated and the crossmember clearance is different. This TruckTok 5-inch system clears everything by about half an inch all around — tight but right. The hangers line up to the factory rubber isolators perfectly. The polished tip exits the factory bumper cutout with clean clearance. This is a well-jigged system.

L5P EGR DPF kit

Looked everywhere online, couldnt find a kit that wasnt 3 grand plus until i found these guys. All delete kits are practically the same the only difference is the tuning aspect. I bought the kit and received it in 5 days have yet to install it but everything is there and nothing is missing. Very good deal for a kit that has all the exact same components as the ones for 4k

L5P DPF regen was killing my oil at 45K

2019 Silverado 3500. At 45K miles the DPF was regenning every 120 miles and my oil analysis showed 3.2% fuel dilution. That is CP4 destruction territory. Installed this TruckTok 5-inch downpipe-back system and a delete tune. Next oil analysis at 5000 miles showed 0.3% fuel dilution — completely normal. The 5-inch pipe is massive and the L5P actually breathes now. Idle is a deep rumble and highway cruising is quiet. The CP4 is going to survive on this truck.

Everything i have researched the 2022 Duramax has to be tuned or the ECM swapped out. Are these kits being installed without tuning?

No, this hardware kit cannot be installed without tuning; custom tuning via an unlocked or swapped ECM is 100% mandatory. Removing the DPF and EGR without updating the ECM software will immediately throw the truck into limp mode, and while the included CAN-bus plugs protect open connectors from moisture, they do not trick the vehicle's computer into running without emissions equipment.
