DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • Over time, the factory EGR cooler is also highly prone to internal thermal cracking, allowing coolant to leak directly into cylinders—often resulting in catastrophic head gasket failures.
  • This LMM EGR Delete Kit completely isolates and removes the soot-recirculating loop. Your LMM will breathe nothing but pure, fresh oxygen, giving you smoother performance, lowered cooling loads, and complete peace of mind.
Key Features
  • Premium Billet Construction: CNC-machined anodized black aluminum blocks off the intake ports perfectly. Features premium, guarantee a lifetime leak-free seal under high boost.
  • No More Carbon Soot & Clogged Valves: Keeps abrasive carbon buildup out of your intake manifold. Your engine runs cleaner, meaning less wear and tear on your valves and internal components.
  • Prevent Costly Head Gasket Failures: Permanently deletes the leak-prone factory EGR cooler, completely eliminating the risk of internal coolant-to-exhaust leaks.
  • Lower Engine Operating Temps: Since hot exhaust gas is no longer running through the cooling system, engine coolant and operating temperatures drop significantly—reducing thermal stress on your entire cooling path.
  • Boosted MPGs and Performance: Burning clean air instead of dirty exhaust gas improves combustion efficiency. Most owners see an immediate improvement of 1–3 MPG, especially when hauling heavy loads.

FAQ

Q: Why does this kit include a "U-Shaped" coolant bypass hose?

A: When you remove the EGR cooler, you interrupt the flow of the coolant lines that used to feed it. The included heavy-duty silicone "U-hose" seamlessly loops the coolant flow back into the cooling jacket, maintaining proper coolant pressure and preserving your cabin heater's performance.

Q: Does the LMM Duramax EGR delete require removing the intake manifold?

A: No. While the LLY requires a deep top-end tear-down to remove the Y-bridge, the LMM's EGR system is mounted higher and further back on the passenger side. Although space can be a bit tight near the firewall, you do not have to pull your intake Y-bridge to complete this install.

Q: Can I run this EGR Kit with the stock exhaust, and upgrade to the 4"/5" pipe later?

A: Yes, You can install and run this EGR delete kit while keeping your factory exhaust completely stock. However, upgrading to 4"/5" Downpipe-Back Pipe later is highly recommended to fully uncork the engine, drop your EGTs by up to 200°F, and let your turbo spool up instantly.

Q: Why are the EGR systems different between early 2007 (LBZ) and late 2007 (LMM) trucks?

A: Stricter EPA emissions laws kicked in mid-2007. To comply, the late-2007 LMM engine had to recirculate much more exhaust gas, requiring a significantly larger EGR cooler and adding a restrictive intake throttle valve—neither of which exist on the simpler, early-2007 LBZ.
