Q: How do I properly drain the water from this separator? 

A: Locate the filter canister under the driver-side frame rail. Place a drain pan directly beneath the unit. Carefully loosen the drain valve integrated into the bottom Water-in-Fuel (WIF) sensor assembly to let the accumulated water and fuel run out. Once clean fuel begins to flow, tighten the valve securely. Cycle your truck's ignition key to the RUN position (without starting) three times for 10 seconds each to prime the system, then start the engine and inspect for leaks.
