DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • From 2004.5-2010, the LLY, LBZ, and LMM Duramax engines shared a highly flawed factory Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) design. To meet emissions standards, the factory vents oily mist from the crankcase directly back into the turbo inlet mouthpiece.
  • Over time, this heavy oil mist coats the inside of your turbocharger compressor wheel, pool-fills your intercooler, and thoroughly soaks your rubber intercooler boots. Once those boots get saturated with hot oil, they lose their grip, swell up, and blow off under high boost pressure while you're towing.
  • Worse yet, if you still run a factory EGR, this oily mist mixes with hot soot to form a concrete-like sludge that chokes your intake. Our PCV Reroute Kit isolates this loop, venting blow-by gases safely to keep your entire intake piping bone dry and clean.
Key Features
  • Stop Intercooler Boot Blowouts: Keeps oil completely out of your charge pipes, ensuring your rubber/silicone boots stay dry and tightly clamped even under 30+ PSI of boost.
  • Zero Soot + Oil "Mud" in the Intake: By stopping oil vapors from entering the intake tract, it prevents the creation of restrictive, engine-choking carbon sludge.
  • Free Up Engine Bay Space: Eliminates the bulky, restrictive plastic factory crankcase box sitting on top of your engine, giving you more room to work on fuel lines or injectors.
  • Protects Turbo Compressor Blades: Stops abrasive, oil-borne contaminants from hitting your spinning turbo wheel, preserving its balance and extending turbo life.

FAQ

Q: What are the two different block-off plugs in this kit used for?

A: The PCV Plug: Blocks the oily return port on your turbo inlet mouthpiece after you disconnect the factory hoses. The Resonator Plug: Deletes the useless plastic "Duramax" silencer box on top of the engine, which is notorious for cracking, leaking boost, and cluttering your engine bay.

Q: Why does the CCV kit fit 2004.5–2010 Duramax (LLY/LBZ/LMM), but the EGR kits are different?

A: Because GM kept the core engine block and valve covers the same, but completely redesigned the external EGR coolers and sensors for each generation to meet tightening emissions laws. The CCV kit is universal, but your EGR delete must match your exact model year.

Q: Does deleting the stock resonator box change the engine sound?

A: Yes, slightly. By removing the baffled plastic resonator box and installing our flat billet plug, you will hear a slightly more pronounced, clean turbo spool/whistle under the hood. It’s a subtle but very satisfying upgrade that most diesel enthusiasts love.

Q: Will my truck drip oil on the driveway after rerouting the PCV?

A: Virtually none. The blow-by gas is mostly micro-fine oil vapor, not liquid oil. As long as you route your custom hose with a continuous downward slope (preventing oil from pooling and suddenly dumping), the vapors will dissipate harmlessly into the air, keeping your driveway clean.
