Factory 6.6L Duramax LLY engines suffer from severe airflow restrictions on both sides of the motor. On the exhaust side, the restrictive stock system with its catalytic converter creates heavy backpressure, trapping extreme heat and slowing down turbo spool-up. On the intake side, the narrow OEM cast intake bridge contains a restrictive internal throttle valve that chokes pressurized airflow entering the intake manifold.
