  • The factory L5P engines restricts turbine airflow, traps extreme underhood heat, and contaminates the intake manifold. The stock pressed downpipe and heavy DPF canister create severe exhaust backpressure while triggering fuel-wasting regenerations.
  • Simultaneously, the factory EGR cooler recirculates hot exhaust soot, while the CCV system dumps oily blow-by vapor into the turbo inlet—combining to form a sticky carbon sludge. Furthermore, removing factory emissions sensors leaves exposed wiring vulnerable to moisture and corrosion.

Everything worked well proper planning is required because it is not perfect

I hope this helps anyone that is looking to get a kit an skeptical of the company. Parts came in 4 days. if you choose the race pipe style it is not meant to get rid of the last muffler so you will have to get a pipe from an exhaust shop to complete it. cost me 50 bucks. on the supplied hoses just purchase 5-6 feet of hose that away you have plenty of room for a clean install with no kinks (reuse the stock quick connects for the firewall). you will also want to get 5 feet of 1/4" fuel line hose for the turbo overflow line going to the nipple on the main coolant reservoir. This will allow you to get rid of the hard line section bolted to the top of the Y bridge for a clean install. The can bus plugs will work but they are not directly plug and play. The driver side frame well plug has a guide ridge in the can bus plug that you will have to use a razor blade to cut off to allow it to fit into the plug on the vehicles harness properly. The can bus plug with the latch on the driverside frame rail going to def harness you will have to shift the latch over the stops to allow it to swing and latch against the def harness plug, also watch dark iron diesels youtube video to show you how to unlock one of the pins that has to be shifted over when you get the plug. lastly the can bus plug going into the harness in the engine bay went in with no issues and worked properly. I would buy this kit again it is very affordable and works but you will just have to take a few extra steps that arent shown on any installation videos.

I just did a 21 duramax got the egr and dpf kit everything bolted decent a little tight but don’t know if that is just a Chevy thing but it all fit no modifications needed.

Everything went ok with egr delete besides the heater core hose that is supplied did not just snap on like stated had to rig factory fitting on the hose and the exhaust some of the hangers where off by a couple inches and fitment at the downpipe is not the greatest also the kit should come with new flange hardware but dose not ccv kit was perfect fit price was good

Would this kit work with Banks tuner and Pedal Monster or does it need to be a specific tuner that is designed for emissions components to be removed?

To disable the emissional-related fault codes and complete the engine calibration for the removed DPF/EGR/DEF system, a dedicated emission removal calibrator (HP Tuners or a custom ECM flashing program) must be used. You can purchase it first to see if it works. If it doesn't, we also have a compatible tuner.
