DESCRIPTION
Product Overview
- Late-production 2015.5-2016 LML trucks have hit their peak emissions failure window. Soot-choked DPFs, blown DEF heaters, and failed sensors frequently trigger Limp Mode while tanking fuel economy to 13-14 MPG.
- Furthermore, towing with these restrictions traps intense backpressure, spiking EGTs past 1,300°F and straining the turbo. At this age, mid-section patch pipes aren't enough, as the stock 10-year-old tailpipes and hangers are often heavily rusted and ready to snap.
Key Features
- Rugged T-409 Stainless Steel Build: Manufactured from industrial-grade T-409 SS, perfectly optimized to expand and contract under intense thermal cycling without cracking or warping.
- The Deepest Acoustic V8 Growl: The huge 5" cross-sectional area acts like an acoustic megaphone, producing an exceptionally deep, deep-tone rumble that sets your truck apart from standard 4" pipes.
- Substantial EGT & Heat Reduction: Instantly drops exhaust backpressure, allowing scorching gases to exit the motor rapidly, dropping EGTs significantly under heavy sustained towing loads.
- Precision 3-Bolt Flange Receiver: Equipped with a heavy-duty, CNC machine-cut 3-bolt flange welded at the inlet, guaranteeing a direct, leak-free bolt-on connection to your 15.5-16 factory downpipe output.
FAQ
Q: How do I know if I have the 3-bolt or V-band flange?
A: Look at the connection between the downpipe and turbo. Early 11-15.5 models feature a V-band clamp (a single circular band with one tightening bolt). Late 15.5-16 models feature a heavy-duty 3-bolt flange (three separate bolts arranged in a triangular pattern).
Q: How loud is it with a muffler?
A: It stays deeper and richer than the factory sound note, but is well-controlled enough for daily driving. The performance muffler effectively takes the edge off harsh highway cab vibrations without killing your V8 tone.
Q: Should I do the EGR delete at the same time?
A: Yes, highly recommended. Since you will already have the factory exhaust dropped, accessing the back of the engine bay is much easier. You can seamlessly pair this install with our LML EGR Delete Kit or full Up-Pipe + EGR Kit .
Q: Will 5" hang lower than stock?
A: No, the system is designed to closely mirror the factory routing layout. Ground clearance remains highly similar to stock, making it perfect for factory height or lifted setups. For heavily lowered trucks, the 4" version stays slightly closer to the frame rail.
