DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • The 11-15.5 6.6L Duramax LML is an incredible workhorse, but it is notorious for being heavily strangled by its complex first-generation DEF/SCR and DPF/CAT emissions systems. As these trucks age, the factory DPF ceramic core plugs up permanently with non-burnable ash.
  • This results in your truck entering endless Active Regeneration cycles, which forcefully dumps raw diesel into the exhaust stroke just to heat up the filter.
  • Your fuel economy tanks to a miserable 13-14 MPG, your EGTs skyrocket, and the immense backpressure puts extreme fatigue on turbocharger, frequently dropping the truck into Limp Mode.

Key Features

  • Mandrel-Bent Flow: CNC mandrel-bent 4" T-409 SS tubing ensures smooth, high-velocity exhaust flow. unrestricted with No Bungs to interrupt the air path.
  • Massive Fuel Mileage Gains: Eliminates the fuel-hungry active regeneration process. Most LML owners see fuel economy recover from a clogged 13 MPG up to a clean 18-19 combined MPG on the highway.
  • Drastic EGT & Backpressure Relief: Allows hot exhaust gases to escape instantly right out of the downpipe. This reduces structural heat-soak and lowers EGTs, protecting your turbocharger under heavy towing loads.
  • Retain Factory Muffler: Replaces only the choked emission center sections. By keeping stock rear tailpipe and muffler, truck maintains a near-stock sound profile—slightly deeper, but completely free of annoying highway cab drone.

FAQ

Q: Will this pipe fit my 2015 or 2016 Duramax LML?

A: If your truck is a 11-15.5 model equipped with a V-Band style clamp off the turbo downpipe, this pipe is a direct bolt-on fit. If truck is a 15.5-16 model with a 3-bolt flange connection, this pipe will not work. It also does not fit Cab & Chassis trucks.

Q: Will this kit fix my LML's EGR and intake sludge issues?

A: This pipe frees up your exhaust, but it won't stop oily PCV mist from mixing with dry EGR soot to clog your intake manifold with thick sludge. Pair this pipe with LML EGR Delete Kit  and a CCV Reroute Kit for a complete, top-to-bottom reliability cure.

Q: Do I really need to replace my factory Turbo Downpipe?

A: While not mandatory, upgrading to our round 3" Turbo Downpipe is highly recommended. The pancaked factory pipe creates massive backpressure; replacing it quickens turbo spool, sharpens throttle response, and maximizes EGT reduction.

Q: Exactly which section of my truck's exhaust does this pipe replace?

A: This 4" straight pipe replaces that entire middle assembly (CAT+DPF+SCR). Once installed alongside delete tuning software, the entire DEF injection pump, tank heaters, and NOx sensors are fully deactivated, meaning truck stops using urea completely.

2013 Sierra — runs better than new

2013 GMC Sierra 2500 with 140K miles. Was dealing with constant regens and EGR soot buildup. Bought this combo kit and a tune. Whole install took a Saturday afternoon. Truck now pulls harder, runs cooler EGTs, and I'm seeing 3-4 mpg improvement on the highway. Should have done this years ago.

LML owners — this fixes the CP4 issue indirectly

The biggest threat to the CP4 pump is soot-contaminated oil from the EGR system. Removing the EGR keeps your oil cleaner which means your CP4 injection pump lives longer. This kit literally pays for itself by helping prevent a $4000 injection pump failure.

Make sure you have a tuner ready

The kit itself is 5-star quality. Just want to emphasize what others have said: you CANNOT drive the truck after installing without flashing the ECM first. It will go into limp mode immediately. Have your tuner (EFI Live, EZ Lynk, HP Tuners) ready before you turn a wrench.

Coolant line plugs worked perfectly

The EGR delete section comes with proper plugs for the coolant lines that fed the EGR cooler. Threaded brass plugs with O-rings — not the rubber caps some kits use. Zero coolant leaks. This attention to detail in the small parts is what separates this kit from cheaper alternatives.

Good kit but instructions could be clearer

Everything fits great and the quality is there. Took off one star because the instructions are a single sheet with small photos. If you haven't done an EGR delete before, budget extra time for YouTube research. The DPF pipe part is simple. The EGR section takes some patience finding all the coolant lines.

Saved over $200 buying as a combo

Priced out DPF pipe and EGR delete separately from other brands — would have been over $400. This combo kit was way more affordable and the quality is identical to the name brands. Everything fit without modification on my 2012 Silverado 3500.

2015 LML with 180K — still running strong

Had this kit installed at 120K miles. Now at 180K and the truck has never run better. Oil analysis shows way less soot contamination since the EGR was removed. UOAs went from 'caution' to 'normal.' If you plan to keep your LML long term, this is maintenance, not just performance.

EGR plates are thick — no leaks

I was worried about the EGR block-off plates being thin and warping under heat. These are 1/4-inch steel plates with proper gaskets. Torqued to spec and zero exhaust leaks after 6 months. The DPF pipe is 304 stainless with clean welds. Solid kit all around.

Turbo spools noticeably faster

After removing the DPF brick and the EGR restriction, that VVT turbo wakes up. Spool time cut in half. Throttle response is crisp off the line. The engine bay is also way cleaner without the EGR plumbing — there's actually room to work on things now.

Complete delete kit — everything you need

If you own an LML Duramax you know the DPF and EGR are the weak links. This kit has both the 4-inch race pipe and the full EGR delete. One box, one install session. Pipe bolted up perfectly to the factory downpipe. EGR plates and block-off kit fit tight. Do yourself a favor and do both at once.

Delete pipe install

This could’ve not gone any easier, I purchased this product and once I received it , it only took 3 hours to install and most the time was in removing the dpf tank and all the other junk. I highly recommend this exhaust pipe delete kit.

Why won’t it fit a chassis truck?
