How it Installation?

Before installing the oil-gas separator, first identify the components of the CCV system and determine the installation locations for the intake and return lines, ensuring that the routing does not interfere with or rub against any moving parts or high-temperature components. The routing scheme may vary depending on the vehicle model.

Step 1

Find a suitable location to install the oil-gas separator, usually on the side of the engine compartment, ensuring easy access for hose connections and inspections.

Step 2

Use L-shaped brackets and clamps to secure the oil-gas separator tank, ensuring it is firmly and reliably fixed during installation.

Step 3

Connecting one end to the crankcase ventilation valve outlet (usually located on the valve cover) and the other end to the intake port of the oil separator tank. Then, connect another hose from the outlet of the oil separator tank back to the inlet of the engine's intake system (such as the turbocharger intake).
Ensure all hose connections are tight and leak-free, and secure them with clamps.

  • Other turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines.
  • Includes multiple fittings for different hose sizes and installation setups.

DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • Heavy-duty diesel engines produce blow-by gases containing oil vapor and moisture, especially under towing, high-load, and modified applications. Without proper separation, these contaminants can accumulate inside the intake system and reduce airflow efficiency over time.
  • The Oil Catch Can Kit uses an internal baffled design to trap airborne oil and moisture before they travel through the intake system. It helps maintain a cleaner engine environment and provides improved crankcase ventilation management for diesel performance applications.

Key Features

  • T6061 Billet Aluminum Construction: TIG-welded aluminum body with sealed O-ring gaskets provides durability, heat resistance, and reliable leak protection.
  • Easy Fluid Monitoring & Maintenance: Built-in dipstick allows quick fluid checks, while the removable drain bottom makes cleaning and servicing simple.
  • High-Efficiency Dual-Chamber Baffling: Internal dual-chamber baffles separate and trap oil mist and moisture from crankcase blow-by vapors, helping keep the intake system cleaner.
  • Helps Reduce Intake Contamination: Captures oil vapor before it enters the intake tract, reducing sludge buildup and helping maintain airflow efficiency over time.

FAQ

Q: What does an oil catch can do?

A: An oil catch can separates oil mist, moisture, and contaminants from crankcase blow-by vapors before they enter the intake system. It helps reduce oil buildup inside intake components and keeps the intake tract cleaner.

Q: Why should I install an oil catch can on my diesel truck?

A: Heavy-duty diesel engines produce crankcase blow-by gases containing oil vapor and moisture, especially during towing and high-load operation. A catch can helps capture these contaminants before they circulate through the intake system.

Q: How does this catch can drain, and how often should it be emptied?

A: This catch can uses a manual drain design. The built-in dipstick checks fluid level, while the removable bottom drain makes emptying easy. As a guideline, inspect it every 1,000–3,000 miles and drain as needed. Heavy towing or modified trucks may require more frequent checks.

Q: Should I use the breather filter or closed-loop setup?

A: For street use, a closed-loop setup is recommended to maintain factory-style ventilation. For modified or high-load applications, the included breather filter can be used to vent crankcase vapors. The best setup depends on your vehicle configuration and intended use.

Q: Why does this kit include multiple hose sizes?

A: Different vehicles use different crankcase ventilation hose sizes. The included 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm fittings provide installation flexibility for various CCV/PCV systems and custom setups.
