Product Overview
Q: How do I know if my 2016 truck needs this kit or the early 2015.5–2016 kit?
A: Check factory EGR tube connection near the firewall. GM updated the design midway through 2016. If your factory EGR tube is secured by a 2-bolt flange, you need this updated 2016–2019 Kit. If it is secured by a round V-band clamp, you need early 2015.5–2016 Kit.
Q: Is a custom tune required after installing this kit?
A: Yes, custom tuning is mandatory. Removing the physical EGR components will cause your truck's computer to trigger codes and enter a derated "limp mode." You must flash a delete tune to shut off these monitoring sensors.
Q: Will this EGR delete kit lower my Exhaust Gas Temperatures?
A: Yes, stopping hot exhaust gases from recirculating back into engine intake, cylinders receive only cool, oxygen-rich fresh air. This lowers combustion temperatures, resulting in significantly lower EGTs—especially when towing or hauling heavy loads.
Q: Where do the two aluminum plates install on my 2.8L Duramax?
A: They seal the intake and exhaust manifolds once the EGR is removed: Oval Plate (with black O-ring): Bolts onto the intake manifold inlet. Irregular Plate (with 4 bolt holes): Bolts onto the exhaust manifold port.
