DESCRIPTION

Product Overview

  • Over time, the factory up-pipes on 01-16 Duramax trucks suffer from a guaranteed failure point—the fragile OEM bellows, Under intense exhaust heat and high drive pressure, these thin factory bellows warp, crack, and leak.
  • This leads to severe turbo lag, lost boost pressure, skyrocketing EGTs, and annoying exhaust leaks inside the engine bay. this complete kit permanently eliminates the factory leak point, restores lost boost, and drops EGTs whether you are towing heavy or racing on the track.

Key Features

  • Mandrel-Bent Tubing: Smooth, unrestrictive bends maximize exhaust gas velocity heading into the exhaust housing of the turbocharger.
  • Reinforced Interlocking Bellows: Designed with heavy-duty internal sleeves that protect the flex section from extreme exhaust velocity, preventing cracking and leaks permanently.
  • Restores Lost Boost: Seals the exhaust system completely, ensuring maximum drive pressure reaches the turbo to eliminate lagging and restore crisp throttle response.
  • Purposely Indented Pass-Side: The passenger-side pipe is custom-profiled with a precision indentation to ensure perfect clearance against the tight firewall.

FAQ

Q: Does this kit include both sides?

A: No. This product includes Passenger Side Up-Pipe and the necessary replacement gaskets. The passenger side is statistically the most common side to crack and leak on 01-16 Duramax trucks.

Q: What are the symptoms of a leaking passenger up-pipe?

A: Look for a loud whistling or hissing sound under acceleration, a noticeable drop in boost pressure, lazy throttle response, elevated EGTs, and visible black soot deposits on the back of the engine block near the firewall.

Q: What does "purposely indented passenger side" mean?

A: The passenger-side firewall clearance on Duramax trucks is extremely tight. Our passenger-side up-pipe features a engineered indentation in the tubing to perfectly mimic the factory profile, ensuring an easy install with zero cabin vibration or rubbing.

Q: Do I need to buy a tuner for this up-pipe?

A: No. This is a mechanical pre-turbo exhaust pipe and contains no electronic sensors. It is 100% compatible with stock trucks and will not trigger any Check Engine Lights (CEL) or diagnostic codes.

Q: What is an up-pipe and how is it different from a downpipe?

A: Up-Pipe vs. Downpipe: The high-pressure Up-Pipe connects the manifold to the turbo inlet—leaks here kill drive pressure, causing massive turbo lag and lost power. The Downpipe connects to the turbo outlet to dump exhaust—upgrading it eliminates crushed factory restrictions, slashing EGTs so the turbo can breathe freely.

Good pipe — heat shield required modification

Pipe itself is excellent — fit perfectly on my 2011 LML. Only giving 4 stars because the factory heat shield doesn't clear the thicker tube diameter without some trimming. The OEM heat shield is designed for paper-thin pipe and the 16-gauge 304 just has more presence. Five minutes with tin snips and it fit. Not a dealbreaker but worth noting for other LML owners.

Great company

I ordered my parts and order was delivered in a short period of time and parts look like a good quality. I wood definitely recommend them and I'll be ordering more from them.

EGTs dropped 100 degrees on my tow tune

2008 LMM with a 40-foot gooseneck. On my tow tune I was seeing EGTs of 1150 on the big grades even with the turbo fully open. Replaced the up-pipe and instantly dropped to 1050 on the same grade. That 100-degree difference means I can hold speed instead of backing out of the throttle. The mandrel-bent pipe flows significantly better than the crushed factory bends — the inside diameter is consistent all the way through.

LML had an up-pipe leak I couldn't find for months

2013 LML. Intermittent P2563 turbo underboost code. Replaced the vane position sensor, checked the actuator, cleaned the MAP sensor — nothing fixed it. Borescope finally found a pinhole in the passenger up-pipe at the flex joint. This TruckTok pipe fixed the code permanently. The collector flange is a direct bolt-up to the LML turbo — no adapter needed. Should have checked the pipes first.

Turbo spool improved on my LLY

2005 LLY was always laggy off the line. Checked everything — turbo vanes were fine, no boost leaks at the intercooler. Then I found soot trails on the up-pipe near the Y-collector. Cracked factory bellows leaking drive pressure before the turbo. This pipe eliminated the leak and the turbo now lights at 1600 RPM instead of 1900. The LLY actually feels responsive for the first time since I bought it.

Duramax Parts

All parts were in great condition and worked as intended. Shipping was terrible. Package was a week and a half late. Would not recommend using USPS. FedEx and UPS are so much faster.

Hi, we have accepted your suggestion. Because sometimes the logistics may be delayed, our standard delivery time is 3 to 5 working days. But once there is a delay, we will lose control.

Wish you a wonderful day!

Fixed the LB7 tick — turns out it was the up-pipe

2003 LB7 with 210K. Had that classic LB7 tick under load and assumed it was injectors. Smoke-tested the exhaust and found the passenger up-pipe was leaking at the manifold flange. Replaced it with this TruckTok pipe and the tick is gone. The pipe is thicker than factory — 16 gauge vs the paper-thin OEM. The polished finish actually looks great even though you can barely see it behind the turbo.

Five generations, one pipe — that's impressive

2006 LBZ. The factory up-pipe had a hairline crack near the turbo flange that was sapping boost. This TruckTok pipe covers everything from LB7 through LML which is wild — but it fit my LBZ perfectly. Mandrel-bent 304 stainless, no bellows to crack, the collector flange is milled flat. Dropped in without any prying. If you have an exhaust leak on any Duramax before 2017, this is your fix.
